EMPOWERING YOUR POSTURE (Michele Biscoe) & ENHANCING YOUR VOCAL VARIETY (Joe Campo)

This two-part workshop focuses on your voice, one of the most powerful tools a speaker has. Similar to a violin or a flute, your voice resonates through your body and sometimes gets restricted by muscle tensions and posture habits you may not even know you have. In part one of this workshop, Michele will demonstrate five-point centering, based on the Alexander Technique, to improve vocal projection and performance. In part two, Joe will take you through voice exercises and give you tips on improving your vocal variety. When you exercise your voice and practice using it well, you can create presentations that virtually “sing.”

TIPPING THE SCALE OF WORK-LIFE BALANCE IN YOUR FAVOR

By definition, a leader has to balance many competing demands. Stefano has spent most of the last ten years balancing marriage, a child, a dog, a job, a military career, and Toastmasters. In the process, he has learned how to maintain his authority as a leader, refine his communication style to preserve and enhance both personal and work relationships, and still have time and energy to enjoy the things he loves.
In this session, Stefano will lead the group in exploring how to define and develop work-life balance. The first step is to identify what’s important to you and how those things might be prioritized. Next, we’ll discuss ways to balance those priorities and how to remove things from your list when demands on your time get unmanageable. Finally, we’ll discuss as a group why balance matters.

THE AUDIENCE CONNECTOR!

A presenter has 3 seconds to grab the audience’s attention — which we all know is easier said than done. How does one make that all-important Audience “Connection,” then, even more importantly, hold the attention through the entire presentation — all the way to applause?

I CAN HELP!!!

Most of the answer lies in the creativity part of a speech, serving up sprinkles, confetti, sparkles, and topping off with a “touch of pizazz” — all to create and give the speech “personality,” with the speaker, in turn, giving the audience an awesome experience.
So, come along — let me take you out of YOUR “comfort zone” to have your own experience of “coloring outside the lines” to create that great, memorable speech.
